Countertop Installation Process (Start To Finish)

We pride ourselves on streamlining our process from slab to kitchen within 5 to 7 days from measurement. In this article, I wanted to share with you our process from start to finish. This will also give you an idea of how to prepare for your new kitchen which will help the process tremendously.

Countertop Installation Process

Before you come to our showroom it is a great idea to get measurements of your existing kitchen countertops. Write them down in inches and bring them with you for your initial consultation.

Initial Consultation

In the beginning, we will discuss your project. Decide on a stone and set expectations. It is our goal to educate you on our products, the process, and the best options for your kitchen and your personal situation.

If you have your measurements with you when you come this will help us give you an estimate during your initial visit. We will then schedule a measurement appointment with you at your convenience and get the final cut measurements and update your estimate with the correct square footage.

During your initial consultation, you will decide on the type of countertop material we use in your kitchen. Granite, marble, quartz, or even soapstone.

You will then decide on your countertop edge profile. This can be free and paid edges. We offer several free options for you but we do have many upgraded edges that may fit your design needs.

From there we will start setting dates and pricing.

Measurement Appointment

Measurements are a very important part of the process. We must come to your home to get measurements for our machines and fabricators to use in the process of creating your new kitchen.

Our measurements are based on countertop standards and may cause your square footage to vary slightly from your original measurement.

Some quick tips to speed up the process and ensure accuracy:

  1. Clean Off Your Countertops - Please make sure that you have everything off of your countertops before our measurement professional arrives. This will ensure accurate and speedy appointments.
  2. Put Up Animals - Please move animals outside or in another room. This prevents distraction and improves the accuracy of your measurements.
  3. Be On-Time For Your Appointment - If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment we will have to reschedule. We have other appointments that we must be on time for and if you are late this could cause problems in scheduling. Please call us if you know you will be late and we will determine if it is possible to keep the appointment or if we need to reschedule for the following day.

Deposit Payment & Install Schedule

Once you get your final estimate we will request your deposit. This is 50% of the total invoice. Once this is paid we will place you on our installation schedule and start fabrication.

Fabrication Planning

If you have a stone that requires a lot of attention to detail in terms of placement of our templates, vein matching, and book matching then you may schedule an appointment to help us decide which parts of the slab you wish to use for certain areas of your countertops. Be sure to ask your sales rep for this free service.

Installation Day

It is now installation day and you are just moments away from enjoying your new kitchen countertops. Here are some tips for installation day that we suggest you follow:

  1. Ensure A Clean And Clear Path - Our installers will be carrying heavy countertops. A clean and clear pathway to your kitchen is required to prevent injury or damage to your home.
  2. Clean Off Your Countertops - This is required to ensure our installation process goes smoothly.
  3. Have Questions About Installation - Please call your sales rep for installation questions or concerns you may have.
  4. Keep Small Children Away - We love our children and don't want them exposed to dust or heavy materials. Please have them in a dedicated room or with a family member.

Plumbing

We do not offer any plumbing services. You will need to hire your own plumber to reconnect any plumbing connections including sinks and faucets.

Final Thoughts

Our process is pretty simple and we hope you understand. It is to ensure the best possible service and outcome of your kitchen countertops. If you have any questions please call your sales rep.
